WOMAN REMANDED OVER BODY FOUND IN BOOT

A 41-year-old woman has been remanded in custody charged with the murder of a man whose dismembered body was found in the boot of a crashed car. Julie Barker also known as Julie Crawford of Chadderton Greater Manchester was remanded for one week by Oldham Magistrates' Court. The remains of Ryan Hetherington 25 of Chadderton were found last week. Parts of his body were discovered in a car which had left the M62 in Cheshire.

TWINS "SAFE AND WELL" IN COUNCIL CARE

Flintshire County Council says the twins at the centre of a custody battle are safely in care after they were removed from their adoptive parents. The American baby girls were taken from a hotel in Mold where Alan & Judith Kilshaw were staying. Council chief executive Philip McGreevy said an emergency protection order was a "considered" response to events. Real mother Tranda Wrecker wants the girls adopted via the internet back.

NET BABIES COUPLE DISMISS WITCH CLAIMS

A couple who adopted twin babies from the US over the internet have denied claims that they practise witchcraft. Judith & Alan Kilshaw said News of the World claims that Mrs Kilshaw was a black magic witch who prowled round a baby's grave were "all lies". She said: "I am not a witch. They are saying anything they want to say about us. We are ordinary people." The couple from Buckley north Wales are fighting for custody of the girls.

THIRD COUPLE IN US TWINS ADOPTION ROW

A third set of parents have said they were offered the twins in the internet adoption row it has been reported. Reporters are looking for US baby broker Tina Johnson after the couple said they had agreed to buy the girls. Amy & Eddie White of New York State agreed to pay £5 800 the Sun reported. Californian couple Vickie & Richard Allen have claimed they agreed to pay Ms Johnson £4 000 but lost the girls to Alan & Judith Kilshaw of N Wales.

SUSPENSIONS FOLLOW DRUGS ALLEGATIONS

Two pupils have been suspended after allegedly taking drugs at a council-run special needs school it has emerged. Police are interviewing a third pupil from Willowpark School in Edinburgh in connection with the incident. It is believed the pupils allegedly swallowed Tamazepam tablets at the school for children aged five to 18. "We anticipate to re-admit the pupils next week following meetings with their parents which are already scheduled to take place " a spokeswoman said.
